Republic day/Ganatantra divas/Sadharana tantra divas is celebrated on 26th January in India. It is a National holiday in India. On this day in 1950, the Constitution of India, which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, came into effect. From then, each year 26th January is celebrated as Republic Day. Schools and Colleges celebrate the day with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm, with students and teachers organizing cultural programs and performances to make the day memorable.
Republic day is celebrated in Odisha in every schools, colleges as well as govt offices and public places. Students gathered on this day for flag hoisting from early morning. They do parades and slogans to remember the glory of the nation. Some cultural festivals are also organized on the day. At the end of the event, sweets and chocolates were distributed to the students.
